Convention Registration

Please complete your convention registration form(s) and return them to the International office with the required fees in a check or money order.  You can also submit them by email to convention2019@atu.org or fax them to 301-431-7117.  If you choose to email or fax your registration form, you must submit the required fees within ten days of the International receiving the form. If we do not receive the fees within the ten days, your registration form will be cancelled.  If you misplace your registration form you may download a new one from our Convention website www.atuconvention2019.org.

Hotel Registration

Please reserve your hotel room in one of the two ways listed below.

The hotel will send you an email confirmation.  Please note you will be responsible for room charges and upon arrival be required to present identification and a credit card for all charges.  Locals may contact the hotel directly to inquire about paying in advance by check.  The Paris Las Vegas Hotel guest room rate is $159 plus applicable taxes per night for single or double accommodations.

Delegate Credentials

Once the International has processed your local union’s membership report for the month of May, we will mail credentials to your financial secretary. Included will be the original version of the credentials as well as a duplicate copy. Please complete both the original credential and duplicate credential, ensuring that each contains the local union’s seal, the signature of the president, and the signature of the recording secretary. The original credentials must then be returned to the International. The duplicate copies must be brought to the Convention. Without your credential duplicate, you will not be seated as a delegate.

Shuttle Service to Convention Hotel

ATU shuttle service will be provided from McCarran International Airport to the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Look for the ATU Greeters who will direct you to the ATU Shuttles which run every half-hour on:

Saturday, September 21, 2019 – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Sunday, September 22, 2019 – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Return Shuttle to McCarran International Airport

Friday, September 27, 2019 – 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – 7:00 AM to to 6:00 PM

Checking In –  You will find it advantageous to check-in as soon as you get to the hotel, even though you may not be able to get into your room until 3:00 PM.  Ask the bellman to store your luggage.

Housekeeping

Due to security precaution, if you choose to opt out of housekeeping cleaning your room, security will do a follow up visit to your room. For any personal items, including CPAP distilled water, there is a CVS next to Paris Las Vegas Hotel.

Onsite Convention Registration

Delegates and guests must also register at the ATU registration counter in the Paris Las Vegas Hotel in order to have the materials necessary to attend and participate at the Convention. Look for signs directing you to the ATU Convention registration counter.

Registration Times

Convention registration will be held in the Paris Las Vegas Hotel on Friday, September 20, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, September 22, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Late registration will also be held on Monday, September 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 AM.

Convention Badge

Wear your badge at all times!  Delegates and guests are required to show their badge to gain admittance to the Convention hall (Concorde Ballroom).

Welcoming Reception

The 59th Convention welcoming reception will be held in the Bally’s Event Center Sunday evening, September 22, starting at 6:00 PM. Business casual attire is recommended.

Opening Ceremony

Delegates and guests are invited to assemble in the Convention hall (Concorde Ballroom) for the opening ceremony which will begin promptly Monday, September 23rd at 9:00 am.

Tuesday Excursions

On Tuesday, September 24th, delegates and guests will have the opportunity to be transported to the excursion of their choice for an afternoon of entertainment. Excursion departure times will be provided with each registration packet.

  • Hoover Dam:
    Guests will have the opportunity to visit the Hoover dam taking advantage of all the learning activities and interactive exhibits and ultimately seeing the dam in person. The dam rises 726.4 feet above the Colorado River. This is listed on the registry of National Historic Landmarks and is the tallest all-concrete dam in the United States.
  • Southwestern Spirit Tour:
    Guests will have the opportunity to visit Red Rock Canyon, an 83,100-acre preserve created approximately 100 million years ago. It is a 13-mile scenic loop with several stops, continuing on to Spring Mountain Ranch. This spring is 520 acres. Don’t forget your camera.
  • Historic Las Vegas:
    Guests will be transported to the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, to a place known as “Glitter Gulch.” This is a sightseeing journey and we will stop at the Museum of Law Enforcement and Organized Crime, located in a historic building – Las Vegas’ first courthouse and postal office. Eleven Casinos are within walking distance along this, the world’s most photographed street. Guests will also have the chance to get a close-up look at the Fremont Street Experience.

ATU Dinner and Entertainment

A dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 25, beginning with a cocktail reception from 5:45 PM to 6:30 PM in the Foyer.  Dinner and entertainment follows at 7:00 PM in the Rivoli and Vendome Ballroom.  Table assignments are provided for the banquet, so check the table number on your  banquet ticket before you enter.  Business attire is required.

Daily Proceedings

Convention proceedings will be available to all attendees on the day following the sessions.

Important Notices

Please check the signs that are posted outside the Convention hall for notices regarding the committee meetings and locations.

Convention Business and Announcements

Delegates are expected to attend all of the scheduled sessions and to be prompt in arriving to the Convention hall.

Important announcements are often made from the podium, and raffled gifts are awarded at the end of each session.

Courtesy

We ask that those who wish to discuss some matter or to socialize, do so well away from the Convention hall area so as not to distract those working inside.  Please silence all cell phones during Convention proceedings.
